Duane and Kathy Sevcech sued Ingles Markets, Inc. and three Ingles’ employees (collectively “Ingles”) for damages allegedly resulting from Ingles wrongfully accusing Mr. Sevcech of shoplifting. The Sevcechs’ complaint contains 11 counts asserting various causes of action and alleging that while they were shopping at Ingles’ market, three employees loudly accused Mr. Sevcech of shoplifting, forced him to submit to a body search, knocked him to the ground, and had him arrested.
