This is an appeal from a judgment of the circuit court for Multnomah county in favor of the plaintiff in an action brought to recover the sum of two thousand dollars, the amount alleged to be due on a benefit certificate "which had been issued by the defendant society to Frederick Freeman for the benefit of the plaintiff. The cause was tried by stipulation before the court, without the intervention of a jury.
