Defendant-Appellant Tayshea Aiwohi (hereinafter “Aiwohi”) appeals from the First Circuit Court’s October 4, 2004 judgment of conviction for manslaughter, in violation of Hawai'i Revised Statutes (hereinafter “HRS”) § 707-702(l)(a) (1993), Judge Michael A. Town presiding.
Aiwohi gave birth to Treyson Aiwohi on July 15, 2001. Tragically, Treyson died two days later on July 17, 2001. Susan Siu, the Chief Investigator for the Department of the Medical Examiner, testified at the grand jury proceeding that Aiwohi admitted to smoking crystal methamphetamine on July…
