*366The plaintiff brought a statutory action to quiet title October 11, 1899, in the Circuit Court of the Fourth Circuit, against the defendants, the subject of the action being the title to the Ahupuaa of Waipio, covered by Eoyal Patent 7529 and situated on the island of Hawaii.
