OPINION

Petitioner, Mildred Laugharn, petitioned for post-judgment relief pursuant to section 2 — 1401 of the Code of Civil Procedure (735 ILCS 5/2 — 1401 (West 2004)) in the circuit court of Morgan County. The circuit court, sua sponte, dismissed her petition because it was untimely, and a divided panel of the appellate court affirmed.
