Defendant, Peter Townsend II, has been charged in an indictment with three counts in violation of the United States Code. Count I alleges that defendant knowingly made false statements in connection with purchase of a firearm, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 922(a)(6) and § 924(a); Counts II and III charge him with illegal possession of a firearm, in violation of 18 U.S.C.App. § 1202(a)(1).
