The Arabian American Oil Company (“Aramco”) brings this admiralty negligence action, in personam against Hellenic Lines Ltd. (“Hellenic”), a Greek corporation that owns the Hellenic Navigator (“Hellenic Navigator”), a general cargo vessel, and in rem against Hellenic Navigator for damages from an allision on February 20, 1981, in the Persian Gulf in which the Hellenic Navigator, with a 30-man crew, collided with and extensively damaged Aramco’s stationary, unmanned oil well platform.
