Plaintiff filed her complaint in the superior court of Cook county, alleging that on December 2, 1939, the defendant, the City Ice & Fuel Company, was the owner of a motor truck which was then being operated by its servant, the defendant Herbert Reinke, acting in the course of his employment, in an easterly direction on Lake street near 33rd avenue in the village of Melrose Park; that plaintiff’s intestate was then and there in the act of cranking a motor truck which was standing on the south side of Lake street, with the two left…
