After jury trial, the defendant appeals from his *201convictions for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor, third offense, G. L. c. 90, § 24, and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, G. L. c. 90, § 23. On appeal, he claims that (1) the judge abused her discretion in allowing cross-examination concerning deportation consequences; (2) the judge’s instructions were insufficient to mitigate the prosecutor’s improper vouching for a witness in closing argument; and (3) the alleged errors, including a further reference to the defendant’s “foreignness”…
