This is an appeal from a judgment of the County Court entered upon a jury verdict in Rensselaer County, convicting the defendant of the crime of bribery in violation of section 200.00 of the Penal Law.

Appellant worked for a company holding the garbage disposal contract for the City of Troy. During March or April, 1969 he telephoned Lawrence Meyer, the Mayor and a Councilman of the City of Troy, and asked to meet with him.
