This is a libel in personam by Louis A. Pederson, appellant, to recover damages from the John D. Sprecldes & Bros. Company for injuries received. The undisputed facts are substantially as follows: The steamer Crown.of England was wrecked at Santa Rosa Island, in Santa Barbara Channel, December 1, 1894. The California Iron & Wrecking Company was employed by the owners of the Crown of England to recover the machinery from the wreck; and, to assist in this work, the company employed the schooner S.
