On May 31,1961, Chartrand brought a petition for a writ of mandamus to compel the Registrar of Motor Vehicles to reinstate him as an examiner of applicants for motor vehicle licenses without loss of salary. We sustained exceptions to the dismissal of the petition after the first trial. Chartrand v. Registrar of Motor Vehicles, 345 Mass. 321.
