After a jury trial, Marcus Lloyd was convicted of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Just after he was sentenced, Lloyd learned that a juror had engaged in misconduct during jury deliberations. That juror had researched certain legal definitions on the Internet and, while out on a lunch break, had asked a police officer to explain the law of “stand your ground.” Lloyd filed an emergency motion for new trial, and once the trial court denied it, he filed this appeal.
