OPINION

HOLLIS HORTON, Justice.

Appellant Steven Alexander Menefee was indicted for second-degree robbery. See tex. Pen.Code Ann. § 29.02 (Vernon 2003). The State alleged Menefee had a prior conviction for felony theft, raising his range of punishment to that for a first-degree felony. See tex. Pen.Code Ann. § 12.42(b) (Vernon Supp.2005). 1 Following the jury’s “guilty” verdict, Menefee pled “true” to the enhancement allegation and stipulated to the prior conviction.
