This was an action by the appellants against the appellees on matters arising upon contract. The defendants pleaded, amongst other things, a set-off Issue, trial, and verdict for defendants, as follows, viz.:
“We, the j'ury, find for the defendants and assess their damages at six thousand dollars, with interest at six per cent.‘per annum from the 25th day of January, 1865. ■
