On April 5, 1915, appellee was engaged as a freight conductor in the employ of the Missouri, Kansas & Texas Railway Company of Texas, at Elgin, Tex. Both the Katy Railroad and appellee were at the time engaged in interstate commerce. The tracks of the Missouri, Kansas & Texas Railway Company of Texas, which will hereinafter be called the “Katy,” and the tracks of the Houston & Texas Central Railroad Company, which will hereinafter, be called the “Central,” cross each other at Elgin at right angles, and said companies have jointly erected and jointly maintain an…
