This is an appeal from a default judgment in which the trial court awarded damages to appellee, Guaranty National Life Insurance Co., (Guaranty) against the appellant, Richard Piekell (Pickell). Appellant asserts three points of error, alleging (1) the trial court erred in refusing to grant his Motion to Transfer Venue, (2) the trial court erred in granting judgment because the parties had entered into a settlement agreement, and (3) the trial court abused its discretion in not setting aside the default judgment because of a mediated settlement agreement.
