For convenience the appellants, Middlesboro Home Telephone Company and Tri-State Telephone Company, will be referred to as the “telephone company,” and the appellee, Louisville & Nashville Railroad Company, will be referred to as the “railroad company.” The railroad company operates a line of railroad through the city of Middlesboro, Kentucky, its tracks crossing Longwood road, one of the streets of that municipality.
