OPINION OF THE COURT

GREENBERG, Circuit Judge.

Anthony Paolello was convicted at a jury trial for a single count of violation of 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1) as he was a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. He timely appeals from a judgment of conviction and sentence entered on April 29,1991, sentencing him to a 27-month custodial term to be followed by a three-year term of supervised release. We have jurisdiction under 28 U.S.C. § 1291. 1 While the indictment also recited that he had violated 18 U.S.C. § 924(e)(1), and Paolello has an extensive criminal record, the government does not contend…
