Justice is more than making the right decisions; it is the right court making the right decision. Although concepts like capacity to sue, standing, personal jurisdiction, and subject matter jurisdiction may appear to be arcane legal rules, they ensure that the court has authority to resolve the dispute. Before the court can reach the merits of any suit, before discovery can begin, the court must resolve standing and jurisdictional issues.
