Williams v. Blunt

This was a writ de homine replegiando brought originally to the Court of Common Pleas in the form prescribed by the statute, (Feb. 19, 1787,) “ where the plaintiff is held without order of law,” alleging that the said Williams was “ taken and detained in a place called the county prison, in Newhuryport, in said county, by the duress of the said Blunt."
