Melenia Trotter (“Trotter”) was awarded workers’ compensation benefits for a back injury by the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission (“Commission”). The circuit court affirmed. The Court of Appeals reversed in part, vacated in part, and remanded, finding the Commission abused its discretion in denying requests made by the employer and its carrier, Trane Coil Facility and Phoenix Insurance Co.
