The East End Improvement Company was a corporation organized for the purpose of building a bridge over the Ohio river at Louisville known as ' the “Louisville and Jeffersonville Bridge.” The total capital stock, par value was $744,000. Of this Dennis Long owned $176,500, and Jacob Krieger $103,000. The company needed much more money than it had. Dennis Long became liable by in-' dorsement for $490,565.99, and loaned or paid debts for the company to the extent of $388,429.91.
