STEPHAN, Judge.

Appellant, M. E. Gorris, instituted this proceeding in mandamus in the Circuit Court of St. Charles County to compel defendants to reinstate him to the position of Police Administrator of the O’Fallon, Missouri, Police Department and to obtain back *359pay dating from the time of his dismissal. The circuit court granted an alternative writ of mandamus pending a hearing. After a hearing, the circuit court quashed the alternative writ and denied the peremptory writ, dismissing the cause with prejudice. We affirm.
