This is an action of claim for wages brought in the former District Court of San Juan by Manuel Lebrón, Jr. and 360 other plaintiffs against the Porto Rico Railway, Light & Power Company. Two causes of action are set out in the complaint. The first is predicated on Act No. 49 of August 7, 1935 (Spec. Sess. Laws, p. 538), as construed in Cardona v. District Court, 62 P.R.R. 59, namely, a claim for payment of “the ninth hour,” and the second is based on § 553 of the Penal Code, as construed in Compañía Popular v. District Court, 63…
