The plaintiff commenced this action in the district court for Harlan county to quiet his title to the northwest quarter of section 17, town 2, range 18, situated in said county. The defendant Nancy E. Mason answered by way of cross-petition, claiming’ a life estate therein, and prayed for an accounting of the rents and profits, and for possession during the remainder of her natural life. The other defendants filed cross-petitions, alleging ownership in fee, *449subject to the life estate of their coclefendant, and prayed for a decree quieting their title.
