Over 30 years ago, Andrew Hammond died, leaving a wife and 14 children.
In May, 1887, one Stolp, who succeeded Andrew P. Hammond as administrator, for the purpose of paying debts of the estate, obtained leave and sold the south half of the southeast quarter of section 34, of the estate, to one M. G. Owens, for the sum of $885, its fair value,' giving’ his deed, purporting to convey the title, which was confirmed in the district court December 8, 1887.
