delivered the opinion of the court.

On the last day of the December, 1910, term of the Circuit Court of Cook County, to-wit: January 14,1911, on motion of the attorney for Dora Cramer (hereinafter called plaintiff), an order was entered striking the plea of the Illinois Commercial Men’s Association (hereinafter called defendant) from the files for want of an affidavit of merits, and defaulting the defendant.
