William Davis appeals a circuit court order affirming a judgment entered against him in the municipal court of Sun Prairie, after he failed to attend his trial in a civil forfeiture action, in violation of a court order requiring him to be present. Davis contends that the municipal court lacked the power to require him to be present at the trial and to enter judgment when he failed to attend because he had a constitutional and statutory right to choose not to be present, as long as counsel representing him was present.
