MURNAGHAN, Circuit Judge:
The plaintiff brought a Virginia state court action claiming that her employer invaded her right to privacy, slandered her, and intentionally inflicted emotional distress. Reynolds Metals Co., the employer, removed the case to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, asserting that the plaintiff’s attempts to recover for state tort causes of action were preempted by § 301 of the Labor Management Relations Act (LMRA), 29 U.S.C. § 185.
