In 1S31, and at. various times between that year and 1855, the general assembly of the state of Missouri passed acts loaning the credit of the state to the Pacific Railroad, to the. Southwest Branch thereof, to the Hannibal & St Joseph Railroad, to the Iron Mountain Railroad, and other railroad companies.
