In July, 1917, defendant Brenner was adjudged, in the Allegan circuit, to be the father of an illegitimate child. He was ordered by the court to file a bond in the sum of $500, conditioned for the support of the child until it should attain the age of 14 years. The order provided that payments of $2 a week be made by defendant, and, if default be made in complying with the order, that he be confined in the county jail until the order was complied with.
