Following the termination of his employment at St. Agnes Church in Chicago Heights, Illinois (“the Parish”), Kenneth Spegon filed suit against the Catholic Bishop of Chicago (“the Diocese”) under the Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”), 29 U.S.C. § 201 et seq., the Illinois Minimum Wage Law, 820 ILCS 105 et seq., and the Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act, 820 ILCS 115 et seq., seeking back overtime pay, liquidated damages, compensatory damages, punitive damages, and injunc-tive relief.
