OPINION AND FINAL ORDER
REBECCA BEACH SMITH, District Judge.
Plaintiff, a Virginia inmate, filed this pro se action pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983 to redress alleged violations of his constitutional rights. Specifically, Plaintiff complains about the conditions of his confinement at Gloucester County Jail between June 8, 2006, and August 10, 2006. 1 He further claims that he was not adequately protected while incarcerated, resulting in an assault upon him by other inmates on July 10, 2006.
