Godbehere, a former Marico-pa County Sheriff, and several deputies and civilian employees of the sheriff’s office (plaintiffs) brought this action against Phoenix Newspapers, Inc., the publisher of The Arizona Republic and Phoenix Gazette, and fourteen editors and reporters of the two newspapers (publishers), for libel and false light invasion of privacy.
