Plaintiff, a member of the teamsters union for more than thirty years, is seeking pension benefits from the defendant pension fund’. The fund, which is administered by a board of trustees composed of an equal number of employer and teamster representatives, has declared plaintiff ineligible for benefits on the ground that his self-employed status between 1956 and 1965 constituted a break in service within the meaning of the pension fund.
