This is an action at law brought by tbe defendant in error to recover the amount due upon certain coupons taken from bonds issued by the- plaintiff in error to the Green Bay and Lake Pepin Railroad Company, of which coupons the plaintiff in error was the owner and holder. The coupons were payable to the treasurer of the company or order, and it was not questioned that the plaintiff became their holder bona fide.
