This is the second appeal in this action, which arises from a motor vehicle collision. After remand from the first appeal, Defendant-Appellee First Insurance Company of Hawaii, Ltd. (First Insurance) paid assigned claim benefits to Plaintiff-Appellant Shilo Willis (Willis) under Hawaii’s Joint Underwriting Plan (JUP).
