I would hold that the trial court did not err in denying defendants’ motions to dismiss and judgment notwithstanding the verdict, or new trial, on plaintiffs claims for conversion, malicious prosecution, and abuse of process. I would therefore reach defendants’ additional assignments of error to the following trial court rulings: (1) the admission of rebuttal testimony from Hill’s ex-wife; (2) the failure to allow counsel for the parties to make closing arguments on the issue of punitive damages; (3) the admission of hearsay statements; and (4) the failure to find that plaintiffs counsel…
