The defendant is the treasurer of the Mitchell & Rowland. Lumber Company, a corporation organized under the laws of Ohio, and on the 20th day of April, 1893, engaged in “a productive industry,” to wit, the manufacture of lumber and lath, in this district and division, and in the first supervisor’s district of Ohio. He is indicted under an act of congress approved July 6, 1892, which is “An act amendatory of an act entitled An act to provide for the taking of the eleventh census,’ ” for refusing and failing to make answers to certain questions propounded to him by David…
