The plaintiff in this suit was formerly employed by the Tangipahoa Parish School Board as a school bus driver. He had a certain designated route over which he had to transport the children to and from school at Amite. During the month of February, 1942, there was certain construction and repair work going on on the road and it was necessary for him to use a detour.
