The Union, Local 4, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, AFL-CIO, brought this action under § 301 of the Labor Management Relations Act as amended, 29 U.S.C. § 185,1 to require Radio Thirteen-Eighty, Inc. (Radio, Inc.) to arbitrate its asserted right to terminate the employment of engineers represented by the Union. Radio, Inc. had dismissed the engineers, and then declined, despite the Union’s demands to reinstate them or arbitrate their status.
