l. slander: of words. I. Upon the trial one P. L. Porter testified as follows: “About the first of November, 1875, defendant came to my house and said that he was out loolcing for some hogs/that he had lost, and claimed *641that his hogs were over at plaintiff’s who would not give them up to him; that he had asked plaintiff for them, and plaintiff said they were his own hogs and he would not give them up.
