Appellants, by this appeal, challenge the constitutionality of an act of the Legislature “relating to the performance of building contracts.” Chapter 91, Sess. Laws 1915. For the reason that the constitutionality of the act is brought in question the case assumes an importance it otherwise would not attain. The act, in substance, provides that any person making a contract for the construction of a building or structure on his land, for a price exceeding $500, shall obtain from the contractor a good and sufficient bond with sureties payable to the owner for the benefit of himself and any…
