OPINION OF THE COURT
PAPADAKOS, Justice.
Appellant raises two issues for our review: (1) whether he was deprived of a speedy trial guaranteed by Pa.R. *74Crim.P. 1100 as well as by constitutional requirements; and (2) whether the trial court erred in admitting into evidence a weapon recovered from his coat pocket.
