Plaintiffs allege they are the owners of the southwesterly 90 feet of lot 9, block 22, of the John N. Howell subdivision in the city of Shreveport; that on October 22, 1929, they loaned to John E. Murray, the then owner of the above-described property, the sum of $8,000, which was secured by mortgage on said property, which mortgage was duly recorded on that date after they had examined the mortgage records and had a mortgage certificate issued upon the property which disclosed that the mortgage granted to them by John E. Murray was a first mortgage and the only incumbrance…
