— The appellant, defendant below, is a corporation organized under the laws of California. It is engaged in business in the state of Washington such that this court, in State ex rel. Atkinson v. Co-Operative Homebuilders, 47 Wash. 235, 91 Pac. 953, held it to be doing the business of a building and loan association, within the meaning of a statute of this state. Laws 1890, p. 56 et seq.; Rem. & Bal. Code, §§ 3601, 3638. In that case it was determined that the corporation must comply with this law or cease operations here.
