On 18 December 1964 the applicant pleaded guilty to a charge of assault in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County, the case was submitted on a statement of facts, and the court rendered a verdict of guilty. A sentence of imprisonment for a term of 2 years was imposed. On 21 April 1965 upon petition and order pursuant to Md. Code (1967 Repl. Vol.), Art. 31B, § 6, he was transferred to the custody of the Director of Patuxent Institution for examination for possible defective delinquency.
