This suit was begun by Ben F. Schuh and Matilda Schuh, his wife, against Horace Haldeman. It was an action for damages for fraud and deceit arising out of exchange of lands. Schuh owned sixty-six and one-half acres of farm land in Hancock county, Iowa. Both parties resided at Bement, Piatt county, Illinois. Haldeman claimed to own 1,000 acres of land in Cumberland county, Tennessee.
