Defendant operates a parcel room on the concourse of the 33rd Street Station of the Hudson & Manhattan Railroad Company in the city of New York at which packages, may be checked by the general public. One Ellis, acting for plaintiffs, checked a package two feet long and one foot wide containing valuable fur skins. In exchange, he received a parcel check numbered 34-971. Two days later plaintiff Sidney R.
